Artist statement
“I feel most free and authentic when I’m lost in my music, whether it be writing or performing. Music is how I explore my spirit and interpret the human experience. Being able to speak to people through my music by offering a thought-provoking message or generating an emotional connection is something that drives me to create work that I’m proud of. I believe Art & Truth act as two pillars of the same portal, one that supports a transcendence to self-discovery. I dwell where the unreal and real coexist. I inspire you to meet me there.
I allow my intuition to guide me through the songwriting process, listening within for conscious affirmation. My stylistic influences are diverse and I work mostly with the acoustic guitar because I feel a natural connection to it when songwriting. I focus on open chord progressions, alternate tunings, and passionate melody lines. These techniques are directly inspired by my love for grunge, emo, and alternative rock music. My lyrical topics include elements of fantasy, social commentary and abstract confessional themes. I start my process by writing and listening to what “mood” the song wants to take on.
My main goal professionally is to become a better, braver creator by showcasing my work online. Currently, I am building up a home studio and exploring better recording and video editing methods while working on a Youtube channel to talk about music news, album reviews, artist interviews, and showcasing videos of myself performing original and cover songs. This project has grown from an inconsistent internet presence, fifteen years of performing, a move across the country, and the quarantine realization that audiences are seeking artists online now more than ever.”
