Swans of Never "Terminal EP"

Swans of Never is an alt-indie rock band with punk overtones featuring Matthew Nanes on Vocals and Guitar, Alex Aponte on Bass and Liz Aponte on drums.

They are currently in the studio recording their second EP almost 8 years from their first.

Built from the foundation of singer and songwriter Matthew Nanes acoustic ideas, the 3 started collaborating after playing music together at their church.

Their music is reminiscent to the feeling you had when you went to your very first local rock show.

We all remember what that was like... *cue dream bubble* ... Your heart is pounding excitedly as you're walking from your car to a dimly lit venue... You hear muted sounds droning from the outside, a variety of screen printed black tee-shirts being worn proudly in the night... cigarette smoke looms out of talkative lips. Once inside you received a handstamp in exchange for a fiver and become instantly blessed with a wave of loud, invigorating music... lights illuminate the musicians who seem to be rocking like it's the last day on Earth. "Who knew this was happening in my own town?" You think to yourself. But I regress...

Their sound is very much like that memory to me. It is melodic and meaningful, and everything that rock is meant to be. It is honest and in your face but in a way that you love and want to listen to over and over.

Gritty, passionate vocals over steady drum fills in all the right places, bass and guitar rising and falling; the sounds crash together like tides. Their lyrics take you into the perspective of one who wants to make a life that is beautiful and well lived. They are stories of reflection and lessons in friendship and love.

Among Matt's ardent songwriting is the synergistic rhythm section consisting of Liz and Alex. They bring the overall sound into a wider arena, one that is clean and crisp while still being able to achieve the unpolished sound that we rock lovers so admire. Liz's playing is so beautifully deliberate and punk-tual (pun intended) it really allows the listener to hear all that the bass and guitar has to offer.
