SeasOnSapphire "Self-Titled Debut"
SeasOnSapphire is a 3 piece power pop, synth outfit comprising of 2 babes named Summer and Winter on keyboards/synths and backed by a noble drummer named Chase. They all have great hair, smiles that melt hearts and the tunes to go along with it.
Their debut EP of the same name features 6 songs, any of which I could see being featured in a movie. Think, Scott Pilgrim's “The Clash at Demonhead” or “Munchausen by Proxy” from Yes Man.
But these pop anthems are much more than their cool exterior. All killer, no filler, these girls have something to say and its not vague. It's sexy and straightforward; something music lovers of all types can appreciate.
Chase's drumming sits perfectly between the keys, acting as an engine to a rocketship; allowing Winter and Summer to operate as pilots of a super majestic space craft speeding through the atmosphere at the speed of light taking us to a dance party on the moon.
The melodies are beautiful, shimmery and urge you to sing along, while also highlighting the very real themes that effect all of us. Lyrics speaking of seduction, living pay check to pay check, heartbreak and staying true to yourself. The songwriting is calculated, smart and seems to develop naturally.
These 3 have solid chemistry and it's a blast to see in action.
Their live show is fun and high spirited, featuring keyboard solos, strong harmonies and a diverse crowd dancing and moshing to the bass heavy synths.
I'm excited to hear more from this group and would love to see hop on a regional tour in the future.
