Theta "Self-Titled Debut"

Theta is Ethno-Noise Soaked, Rhythmic Psychedelia with a sudden twist of Hip Hop featuring members Jesse Hodshire, Dan Larsen, Anna Hodshire and Allen 'Rytuaal' Harris. This group is my top fave UT band.

Theta is highly energetic and multi-faceted.

Backed by the hypnotic and rhythmic punches of Drummer Jesse, Lyricist Rytuaal's thought provoking and passionate rhyming style paints vivid pictures allowing him to take us into different scenarios and perspectives. Rytuaal's name is an acronym for Retrain Your Thoughts Use All Available Logic and he certainly lives up to his name when delivering challenging messages, encouraging listeners to free their minds from metaphysical stress.

Theta's music functions much like the meaning of their name, a meditative state in a realm of subconsciousness. Although much of their music is pounding, vibrant and alive, there are dreamy dynamic builds that allow Dan's guitar to ebb and flow between crunches and sweeps. His riffs are memorable, hand bangy while also making you want to sing along to them. Using different yet distinct textures in his playing, Dan sets a certain “signature mood” for the band. 

Anna provides a starscape of sounds; playing the saxophone, flute and theramin. Her attacks are exciting, unique and refreshing for the overall vibe, adding many atmospheric layers to the band. 

You can catch fans singing along to their fave lyrics on Moon and Sun, “green grass, clear skies, blue oceans, black nights, white lies, red dawn, silver clouds, brown skin, orange fire, yellow hearted gold medalist”.
