DIY Apple Cider Vinegar Facial Toner
Toners and other facial products can be expensive and full of fragrances, chemicals, dyes and sulfates that can damage skin! I have struggled with acne since I was a pre-teen and tried EVERYTHING. The past year I have opened up to the world of all natural cosmetics, cleansers, lotions etc and finally found an all natural skin care regimen that is working for me. This all natural toner has completely transformed my complexion, cleared my acne and saved my skin!
Apple cider vinegar is a magical by-product of the fermentation of apples and has many health benefits in addition to balancing the natural pH of the skin! It can help you lose weight, lowers cholesterol, prevents indigestion, boosts energy among other refreshing uses.
Today I'm going to talk about the effectiveness of using it for your skin.
Apples are loaded with powerful natural antioxidants, essential b vitamins and minerals such as potassium and calcium. Apples are also packed with phytonutrients which help prevent free radicals (a cell damaging imbalance). Nutritionists consider apples a miracle food! No wonder they say, “an apple a day keeps the doctor away”. Anything you put into your body you can also soak in the nutritional benefits through your skin!
The fermentation process of the apples concentrates these beneficial acids and enzymes making it easy and effective to use. This elixir is a natural antiseptic and antibacterial which makes it a great tool to use against acne and eczema.
Apple cider vinegar facial toner made from raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar balances the natural pH of the skin, lightens sun and age spots, improves acne and acne scars, clears away excess oils and make-up, and gently exfoliates to keep skin pores open.
And best of all? A 32 oz bottle costs about $5 at your local drug store! No more $50 toners, yay!
DO IT YOURSELF MAGICAL APPLE CIDER VINEGAR TONER
• To begin, you’re going to need a proper jar/container for your magical toner! Dilute the apple cider vinegar with filtered or distilled water.
• The amount of water that you use will depend on your skin! Experiment and see what works best for you. A ratio of one part apple cider vinegar to two or three parts water is most common but, if you have sensitive skin, you’ll want to use a little more water.
• Then, add some of your favorite skin savvy essential oils to the mix! I used two to three drops Tea Tree Oil and Lavender Oil. These oils are great for their natural antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties to reduce redness and calm the skin.
• To apply your apple cider vinegar toner, just dip a cotton pad to soak in a little love and apply it directly to your skin after cleansing.
• Wait until your toner has dried and then use whatever other lotions, potions and creams you wish. Do this twice a day for noticeable improvements!
The best part about this toner is that you can drop a bit into your bath for a PH balancing, skin smoothing addition for your whole body!
